Shopping Fillmore St.
The story
Upper Fillmore in Pacific Heights is a six-block run of Fillmore St from Bush St north to Jackson St. It is lined with designer and contemporary clothing stores, jewelers, perfumers and home shops, with independents mixed among national brands.
It suits shoppers looking for women's fashion, fine jewelry and fragrance in a walkable neighborhood setting.
What to Expect
Women's fashion runs the length of the street. Sézane (2028) and Freda Salvador (2011) are between Pine and California, Rachel Comey (2223) between Clay and Sacramento, and Reformation (2360) between Clay and Washington. rag & bone (2060), its only San Francisco store, does in-store tailoring and takes old denim for recycling. Cuyana (2116) books personal shopping appointments, Margaret O'Leary (2400) makes San Francisco knitwear, and The Finerie and Heidi Says are independent boutiques at opposite ends of the strip. 45R sells Japanese indigo denim.
Jewelry is a real strength. Fiat Lux (1942) does bespoke designs and permanent jewelry, Catbird (2124) sells delicate gold stacking rings, HYOU Fine Jewelry opened at 2029 in early 2026, and Trabert Goldsmiths (2420) is the place to ask about custom gold work. For fragrance, Le Labo mixes and labels perfume to order, Diptyque and Aesop are a few blocks apart, and Ministry of Scent carries niche houses. Browser Books, Sue Fisher King for linens and tableware, Nest for small gifts, Oaktown Spice Shop and Mureta & Co. antiques round it out.
Best Time to Visit
Most stores open around 11am and close at 6 or 7pm, with shorter Sunday hours at some brands. Browser Books stays open until 9pm daily. Some independents keep limited days: Hi-Ho Silver opens only Friday to Sunday afternoons, Mureta & Co. is closed Sunday and Monday, and Trabert Goldsmiths works Tuesday to Saturday by appointment.
If You Only Have an Hour
